Digital Media Technology Department was established in January 2012. Eleven full-time teachers and some outstanding part-time experts and scholars from famous universities and IT enterprises arc employed in the department. It constitutes a virtual reality lab, a game experience lab, and a digital media technology training base which is jointly built with Shenyang Hunnan Electronic Information Industry Office.

The department is principally engaged in research and development areas of virtual reality, human-computer interaction, graphics and image processing, computer graphic design and production, three- dimensional production, animation, game engine development, digital audio and video editing and synthesis, etc. It focuses on training students to master the basic theory of computer software development, professional knowledge and basic skills for the core technology and design standards of digital media to improve the quality and capability of students in the creative arts.
